Loctite 290 Medium Strength Threadlocker
Loctite 290 is a medium-strength threadlocker with a low viscosity. Because of its capillary action, the product wicks between engaged threads, making it ideal for locking pre-assembled fasteners (up to 1/2" or 12mm) and eliminating the need for disassembly prior to application.
It is designed to secure set screws and other assemblies after settings are completed, and can also be used to seal welds and porous metal parts.
Primary Use: Locking preassembled fasteners (e.g., instrumentation screws, electrical connectors, set screws).
Strength: Medium strength.
Action: Penetrates threads by capillary action.
Benefits: Prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration.
Substrates: Works on metal only.
Tolerance: Tolerant of minor contamination from industrial oils, corrosion prevention oils, and cutting fluids.
